Waiheke Airport was established in 1986, is locally owned and is the only airport for fixed wing aircraft and helicopters on the island. Current facilities are for landings during daylight hours only.
Neighbouring the airport are two vineyards and some facilities like ziplines, sport grounds and a golf course are in close proximity.
Waiheke Wings, the locally based air operator, which provides charter and scenic flights from Waiheke to many destinations around New Zealand. The company is part of New Zealand’s first carbon zero air operator Island Aviation/Auckland Seaplanes.
